Hyde Russell, MD
A graduate of Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Dr. Russell joined the Asheville Heart team in 2025. An Asheville native, Dr. Russell completed general surgery residency at the University of Chicago, and completed fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Thomas Gleason, MD
Dr. Gleason completed trained in general surgery at The University of Virginia before completing his Cardiothoracic surgery training at University of Pennsylvania.
